Amidst Violent Protest Mamata Banerjee Urge People to Maintain Peace

  • On Saturday West Bengal CM urged people to maintain peace and warned that strict action will be taken against people found indulging in violence.
     
  • She appealed for calm as several places across the state saw violent agitations and vandalism by people protesting against the CAA.
     
  • In an official statement, she said, "Do not take up law in your hand. Do not put up road blockades and create trouble for the common people on the roads." 
     
  • The statement further said, "Do not cause damage to government properties." 
     
  • "Strict action would be taken against those who are found guilty in creating disturbances," the statement quoted her as saying.
