Calangute MLA and Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo on Tuesday blamed Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar for the nuisance on beaches created by drunk domestic tourists.
Speaking to media persons after meeting with the Director General of Police Muktesh Chandar at the police headquarters, Lobo demanded an end to the harassment to the tourists by the police.
“For the last several years, I have been raising the issue of the nuisance created on the beaches by drunken tourists…  the Chief Minister had assured on many occasions that the government would ban drinking at beaches and other public places. But he has forgotten now (about it). The Chief Minister is responsible to bring in the particular order banning drinking at public places,” he said.
