Sabarimala: Woman pilgrim faints, police take duo back to Pampa

A day after a 11-member group of women below the age of 50 were dissuaded by the police from entering the shrine at Sabarimala following a stand-off lasting almost 10 hours, two women on Monday morning attempted to reach the Ayyappa temple. The women were given police protection but protesters continued to block their path.
The situation at the Sabarimala trekking path limped back to normalcy after the initial reaction from the protesting pilgrims against the police who were in charge of protecting the two women pilgrims.
