Some upper caste men in UP’s Etah district allegedly beat up a group of Dalit people for carrying posters of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar in the ‘baraat’ (marriage procession) of a Dalit youth. The incident took place in Asrauli village on Wednesday night. Cross FIRs have been registered and police have beefed up security in the village.

According to a police complaint filed by the aggrieved party, the upper-caste men first raised an objection to the Dalit guests holding pictures of Ambedkar in the ‘baraat’ and later attacked them.
