Chhattisgarh exit polls divided, most gives the slight edge to Congress

Chief minister Raman Singh seems set for a fourth stint in power in Chhattisgarh according to one exit poll, while others indicated the Congress may be back in power after a gap of 15 years.

Times Now- CNX exit poll has predicted 46 seats for BJP, 35 seats for the Congress and 9 for others, out of 90 in Chhattisgarh.

Conversely, India Today- Axis My India exit poll has given 55-65 to Congress and 21-31 for the BJP.

Today's Chanakya and CVoter too placed the Congress ahead of BJP , with the BSP and JCC not making a serious dent. The poll of all exit polls gave a slight edge to the Congress.

In 2013, the BJP and the Congress won 49 and 39 respectively while the BSP got just one seat. An independent candidate got the remaining one.

Chhattisgarh voted in two phases this time. Eighteen seats in the Naxal-hit Bastar region went to polls on November 12 while elections were held in the remaining 72 seats on November 20.
