Denied ticket by Cong., ex-minister to join TRS

Upset over the Congress denying him a ticket from Dubbak constituency, former minister Cheruku Muthyam Reddy on Sunday announced his decision to join TRS. He will join the party in the presence of caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday.
Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, who met Mr. Reddy at his house along with party candidate S. Ramalinga Reddy, convinced him to join the party.
As per the grand alliance, a Dubbak ticket was allotted to TJS candidate Chindam Rajkumar. This irked Mr. Reddy, who had filed nomination as Congress candidate. He was supposed to contest as an independent, but a last-minute intervention by Mr. Harish Rao changed the situation. “I was denied ticket as I don’t have sufficient money,” said Mr. Reddy.
