Calling upon the youth to take proper care of their aged parents by giving them affection and love, Governor Mridula Sinha said that the situation for aged people is not so well in the country. She said that youth should avoid sending their parents to old-age homes as it is their moral responsibility to look after them.

Union Minister of State (independent charge) for Ayush Shripad Naik said that the government has been implementing various healthcare schemes for the benefit of people especially the senior citizens and they should avail the facilities. Naik said that he has a plan to start old-age homes in all 40 constituencies under MPLAD Scheme. The land required for the old-age home should be made available by respective MLA so that the scheme can be implemented, he added.
