Minister disburses cheques to BCs

Agriculture Minister P. Srinivas Reddy said that as many as 478 beneficiaries belonging to Backward Communities were provided with a loan amount of Rs. 2.39 crore at the rate of Rs. 50,000 for each person with a hundred per cent subsidy in the district.
Distributing cheques to the beneficiaries at a function here on Saturday, he said that applicants were given loans to establish self-employment units. Listing out the welfare schemes of the TRS government, he said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is giving top priority for the uplift of BCs.
Presiding over the meeting, Collector M. Ram Mohan Rao said that under the first phase of the scheme, an amount of Rs. 8.26 crore was sanctioned for the district. Loans are a free hundred per cent up to Rs. 50,000, and 80% subsidy would be given on loans up to Rs. 1 lakh, 70 p.c. up to Rs. 2 lakh and 60% for Rs. 5 lakh, he said.
