‘Name Dalit for CM post’

The president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Amit Shah, has challenged caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to announce a Dalit as the chief ministerial candidate in the ensuing elections to compensate for the promise he had made and broke in the 2014 elections.
Mr Shah said Mr. Rao even failed to protect the identity of Telangana as well by ignoring to celebrate September 17 as the Liberation Day to please Asaduddin Owaisi of the Majils Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM).
He also promised 12% reservations to Muslims despite knowing that the Constitution doesn’t allow religious reservations, Mr. Shah said addressing a press conference here.
Accusing Mr. Rao of failing on all fronts, Mr. Shah said he could not construct even a single irrigation project though BJP gave all the permissions for all projects, including Kaleshwaram. He is just enjoying the legacy of previous governments, he said.
