Centre’s aid, not enough: Azad

AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that the flood relief assistance granted by the Centre to Kerala will fall short of meeting the relief requirements of even a district. Maintaining that the recent Kerala floods bore similarity to the one that was witnessed by Jammu and Kashmir, he said he would put pressure on the Centre to release more money to Kerala.

Soon after his arrival at Aluva around noon on Friday, Mr Azad visited Desom and then proceeded to the Kuttamassery school in Keezhmad, which witnessed widespread devastation, and Kunnukara, where the collapse of a portion of the parsonage killed five people.
