The engineers of Irrigation Department have conducted the wet run of the fifth pump in the third lift of Mahatma Gandhi Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Scheme in Nagarkurnool district on Sunday.
Operationalisation of all five pumps in the third lift of the scheme would enable lifting of water required for storage in the 0.98 tmc ft capacity Gudipallygattu reservoir, which was not possible with the functioning of only four pumps in the third and final lift of the scheme so far.
Minister for Irrigation T. Harish Rao has complimented the engineers for a successful wet run of the fifth pump of the third lift.
