Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida has decided to lodge a police complaint against the fishermen attached to the Old Cross Fishing Canoe Owners Co-op Society Ltd, based at Khariwada, for their alleged involvement in the violation of the ban on fishing.
Speaking to media in Vasco on Friday, Almeida alleged that the fishermen attached to the OCFCOCSL are involved in illegal fishing. “I have learnt through some footage from news channels that the fishermen associated with OCFCOCSL have unloaded fish from motorised canoes,” he said.
