Scheme to train tribal youth for competitive exams on an anvil: Gaude

The government is in the process to formulate training scheme for the preparation of Union Public Service Commission, Goa Public Service Commission and other competitive exams for youth from scheduled tribe community in the state, Tribal Welfare Minister Govind Gaude told the state assembly on Wednesday. Replying on demands on tribal welfare, the minister said that the government has emphasised on the education of members of the tribal community and is supporting the students from the community through various scholarship schemes. “The scheme called training for preparation for competitive exams like UPSC, GPSC for tribal youth is being formulated by the department,” he said, adding a loan of Rs 1 lakh for education, medical or employment purposes is being offered through the schedule tribe development corporation within 24 hours without any surety.
