Ramesh Kumar has set July 27 as the deadline for the State government to begin the process of implementing the Karnataka legislation that allows reservation in promotions to those from the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes in government posts. SC hearing The Speaker issued the directive to the government after Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Krishna Byre Gowda told the Assembly that the State was awaiting the outcome of the Supreme Court’s hearing on July 27 on the issue before implementing the legislation on reservation in promotions to SC and ST employees.
