Discarding any plan to extend Kochi Metro till   Angamaly at this juncture, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the assembly on Monday that even the second phase of the project was at its infancy.

“The revised plan (adhering to the new Metro policy) of the second phase of Kochi Metro – from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kaloor, till Infopark via Kakkanad – is now under the government scrutiny and we need further approval by the cenral government to commence the works,” he said while replying to a submission by Congress MLA Roji M John, seeking possibility of extending the Metro till Angamaly.
