Maharashtra government lists seven most dangerous bldgs in South Mumbai

A total of seven buildings (which includes six buildings from last year’s list) has been declared as the most dangerous cessed buildings by MHADA. Situated in South Mumbai, the buildings housed a total 403 residents, of which 117 are yet to vacate.
On Saturday evening the state’s Housing Minister Prakash Mehta announced the list of the buildings, and Esplanade Mansion, next to the Mumbai Sessions Court at Kalaghoda continues to tops the list. When asked, why this building keeps reappearing in list, Meheta said, “The tenants of this building had approached the court and there’s a stay on eviction.” The building has a lot of advocate offices in it.
Last year nearly 800 buildings have been repaired by the Mumbai Repair and Reconstruction Board of MHADA. Last year’s list featured nine buildings of which three were repaired, while remaining six continue to be in the list.
