Shiv Sena forcefully punishes, insults BJP leader, pours black ink, makes him wear saree

  • Amid political rivalry, Shiv Sena workers allegedly punished and assaulted a BJP leader.
  • The Sena leaders poured black ink on the leader and later forced him to wear a saree.
  • Saree which is a symbol of womanhood and women's honour, Sena workers used it as a symbol of public shame and humiliation.
  • When he denied wearing a saree, the workers forcefully made him wear that saree and parade him after blackening him from top to bottom.
  • This came after the BJP leader criticized Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
