Indian govt asks Twitter to remove 1,178 handles having Khalistani users

  • The Indian govt has asked Twitter to remove more than a thousand accounts from its platform for spreading misinformation.
  • Govt alleged that these accounts are spreading provocative content around farmers' protests.
  • It claimed that over 1,178 handles have Pakistani and Khalistani users. The officials said that the microblogging platform is yet to comply with the order.
  • Letting you know, this move came after Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg had last week tweeted a "toolkit" which she later deleted.
  • Police claimed that Greta's action aimed at spreading disaffection sought to create disharmony among various social, religious, and cultural groups.
