Counting for West Bengal By-Polls Begin, Results Will be Announced Soon

  • The counting of votes for the West Bengal by-polls began on Thursday at  8 AM.
     
  • The counting of votes is going on for three West Bengal assembly constituencies Karimganj, Kharagpur Sadar and Kaliaganj.
     
  • While talking about the voting percentage the EC said "The average voting percentage was 75.48%"

  • Elections on the Kaliaganj seat were held since the seat fell vacant after sitting MLA Parmatha Nath Ray died earlier this year.
     
  • The other two seats went to polls as their MLAs-- Trinamool's Mohua Moitra and BJP's Dilip Ghosh-- were elected as members of parliament in May.
