Family of Battle Casualties Can Retain the Govt Home for 1 Year: Defense Ministry
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh approved the proposal to extend the period of retention of govt accommodation for families of battle casualties from all the three services.
The families of battle casualties will now be allowed to retain their government accommodation for 1 year as compared to three months.
The Defense Ministry reviewed the existing provisions and recommended the extension of the retention period.
This decision of the ministry will help boost the morale of the soldiers and their families.
The statement by the ministry read, "The family of a soldier killed in action against enemy forces or during enemy air attacks are sanctioned retention of govt accommodation for 3 months which has now been extended to 1 year."
