CM dares Opposition to hold Grama Vaastavya in at least one village

Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has come down heavily on the Opposition for criticising his Grama Vaastavya programme. Addressing a gathering at Ujlamb village in Basavakalyan taluk of Bidar district on Thursday, he dared the Opposition leaders to hold the programme in one village at least.
“I spend around eight hours for Janata Darshan alone, where I receive applications from each individual, hear their grievances with patience, and ask the officials concerned to get the work done. It’s easy to criticise from the stands, what is hard is doing something,” Mr. Kumaraswamy said.
In the last 13 months, the BJP leaders have left no stone unturned to destabilise the Congress-JD(S) coalition government in the State, but their continued efforts go in vain, he added.
Karnataka will be developed as a model State by improving the socio-economic conditions of the people through various welfare schemes, Mr. Kumaraswamy said and added that the State government was not limited to a few constituencies. Without any disparities, we have equally allocated funds for schemes and projects in all the districts across the State.
Referring to the second Bachawat award that granted 49.97 tmcft of water from the Godavari basin to Bidar district, the Chief Minister said only 14.38 tmcft is being utilised for the Karanja irrigation project and the Chulki Nala Scheme and the remaining 22.73 tmcft remains unused. He said he would consider the long-pending demand to take up lift irrigation projects.
