Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijai Sardesai, who is also the TCP Minister in the Manohar Parrikar-led coalition government, on Wednesday expressed confidence that the statue of Dr Jack De Sequeira will be installed in Goa legislative assembly complex stating that it is just a matter of time that due recognition is accorded to the father of Goa Opinion Poll, a referendum that held in 1967 against the merger of Goa into Maharashtra. Sardesai was addressing a gathering after unveiling the bust of Late Dr Jack Sequeira at Merces at a function organised by Merces Konkani Kala Kendra. Rural Development Minister Jayesh Salgaonkar and daughters of Dr Sequeira, sarpanch of Merces village panchayat Pranita Calangutkar and others were present on the occasion. The Minister also said that the history of Opinion Poll would be part of the school curriculum from the next academic year.
