Strict vigil around Telangana Assembly

 
This time, police will keep a strict vigil on the movement of every individual visiting the Assembly premises during the first session of the newly-constituted Telangana Assembly begins on January 17.
Taking serious note of the intelligence inputs that extremist resumed their movements in some parts of the state recently, the police have taken necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of all the newly-elected legislators during their stay in Hyderabad. During the four-day session, the assembly will witness hectic activity which includes taking oath of the MLAs, Speaker election and Governor’s joint address to state Assembly and Legislative Council.
Council Chairman K Swamy Goud and Assembly Secretary V Narasimha Charulu held a high-level meeting attended by DGP Mahendar Reddy and Hyderabad Commissioner Anjani Kumar and discussed the security arrangements in and around the assembly premises.
Three-tier checks will be conducted before allowing the persons, including the officials to enter the assembly. They should furnish the details of the purpose of their visit to the assembly to the cops before getting their nod. Special teams will be deployed around the assembly premises to monitor whether any anti-social elements moving in the the VIP zone. Officials said that the entire Assembly zone was already under CCTV surveillance. In addition, GPS-fitted vehicles will be stationed at key points at assembly premises. Around 1,000 police personnel will be deployed to monitor the law and order situation in the VIP zone.
