Vishwajit urges M’rashtra, K’taka FDAs to cooperate with Goa

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Saturday said that he has sought support from his counterparts in Karnataka and Maharashtra and has urged them to ask their respective state Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to come on board with Goa FDA in resolving the issue of transportation of fish.
“I have spoken to the concerned ministers of both the states (Karnataka and Maharashtra). If they want a solution, they should ask their state FDAs to come forward and coordinate with Goa FDA and let them also put in efforts. In order to resolve the issue, we and they need to be on the same page,” the Health Minister said while interacting with media persons on the sidelines of a function held to launch STEMI-Goa project at the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim.
He said that the respective FDAs of both the states should provide Goa government with the lists mentioning the names and addresses of small fishermen from their jurisdiction who fall within the radius of 60 kilometres from state borders so as to enable Goa FDA to identify them.
