Leader of Opposition, TR Zeliang has extended warm greetings to the Sumi community on the occasion of the Ahuna Festival. In his greeting, Zeliang stated that the time of hard work and patience was rewarded by an abundant harvest for which the people celebrate Ahuna, marked by feasting, merry-making and thanks-giving.

As they celebrate Ahuna, he called upon the people to renew their vigour and determination to safeguard and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Sumis and the Nagas in general. Zeliang wished that the courage and determination continue to be by their side nurturing their land, resources and rich traditions associated with it. He wished the Sumi community a happy and meaningful Ahuna celebration.
