YC activists injured as protest turns violent

Over 10 activists of the Youth Congress (YC) were injured when a demonstration that was taken out to Raj Bhavan turned violent on Tuesday.
The agitation was organised in connection with the nationwide Bharat Bachao Jana Andolan campaign of the Youth Congress in protest against the various policies of the BJP-led Central government. The demonstrators were obstructed well before Raj Bhavan by a large police posse that had erected barricades near the Vellayambalam junction.
Activists laid siege to the road, following which the agitation was formally inaugurated by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president M.M. Hassan. Soon, the police began to forcibly remove the protesters, leading to a full-blown clash.
