SC Rejects CBI's Plea Challenging Chidambaram's Bail
- The SC rejected CBI's review petition challenging the bail of senior Congress leader P.Chidambaram in the INX Media Case.
- Justice R Banumthi led 3 judge bench dismissed the review petition.
- Last year, the court granted bail to Chidambaram in a case related to the FIPB clearance given to INX media to the tune of Rs 305 crore in 2007 when he was the finance minister.
- While granting bail court directed Chidambaram not to give press interviews and make public statements with regard to the case.
- He was also asked to provide a bail bond of Rs 2 lakh plus two sureties of the same amount.
