Karnataka Govt to Pay Rs 100 Crores on Failure to Meet Deadline
The Karnataka govt will have to pay Rs 100 crore for its failure to meet the deadline on the restoration of heavily polluted Bellandur, Varthur and Agara lakes.
The NGT had set a deadline of June 30, 2019, for the lake clean-up, but the government failed to achieve results by that date.
On failure to meet the deadline, the NGT had fixed a Rs 100 Crores as the penalty.
