Kerala and TN to review a 60 years old Water Sharing Agreement

  • On Wednesday, in a meeting between TN CM K Palaniswami and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan decided to review a water-sharing agreement.
     
  • It is about Parambikulam-Aliyar, the water-sharing agreement is to be reviewed 60 years after it was made.
     
  • “A 10-member committee will be formed compromising of five members each from both the states." Pinarayi Vijayan said.

  • He also added that his Tamil Nadu counterpart Edappadi Palaniswami had initiated the move and thanked him for that.
     
  • With disagreements between the two states on the deal in the past, this meeting aims to iron out differences.
