Congress serves show-cause notice on Bheema Naik

After suspending senior MLA R. Roshan Baig for indulging in “anti-party activities”, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday served a show-cause notice on Congress MLA for Hagaribommanahalli Bheema Naik, for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities by levelling corruption charges against Minister for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood P.T. Parameshwar Naik.
Both the MLA and the Minister hail from Ballari district. Mr. Bheema Naik was a ministerial aspirant. In May, there were rumours doing the rounds that Mr. Bheema Naik was on the verge of joining the BJP after the Lok Sabha polls. But the rumours died down after he decided to stay put with the Congress.
In the notice issued to the MLA, the KPCC said Mr. Bheema Naik had alleged that the Minister was blocking the Malavi irrigation project work in Hagaribommanahalli constituency and seeking “commission” from a contractor to complete the project. Many dailies on June 26 published the MLA’s accusations against the Minister, the notice stated.
