Dolly Roy, a 45-year-old woman from Golaghat district has been sent to detention camp for failing to respond to Foreigners’ Tribunals notices. 
Roy was served with three notices for NRC hearing which she failed to reply to, and was then sent to the detention centre on June 12 after an ex- parte judgment issued by Golaghat Foreigners’ Tribunal. 
According to reports, Roy was unable to attend the hearing due to medical emergencies. Roy reportedly said that she had submitted all the required documents which were approved by the authorities.
 
It is to be mentioned that recently, a Kargil war veteran Mohammad Sanaullah and his entire family were declared foreigners by the Foreigners’ Tribunal, following which a team of North Guwahati police arrested him.
He was later released from Goalpara detention centre on Saturday, June 8 after the Gauhati High Court ordered his release.
