Tripura ex-CM wants probe into security lapse that led to Pulwama terror attack

The Communist Party of India – Marxist (CPI-M) organized a silent protest procession in Agartala against the Pulwama terrorist attack.
The procession started from the Rabindra centenary hall area and went through the streets of the capital city and concluded at the Paradise Chowmhuni area.

Later speaking to reporters former Tripura chief minister and CPI-M politburo member Manik Sarkar said that he along with others paid homage to all those troopers of the CRPF who sacrificed their lives in the terrorist attack at Kashmir and are by the side of the martyrs’ families.
However, Sarkar said that he had read in the newspaper that the Indian intelligence had a prior input of such militant attack and in that case, it has to be examined on basis of that what additional security measures have been taken during movement of such a big convoy of security personnel.
He added an inquiry need to be done whether there was any lapse in the additional security measures if that was taken and if not then also who is responsible for it.
Hundreds of CPI-M cadres with banners protesting against terrorism and standing by the side of the families of the martyr’s soldiers went through the street.
