Nagaland Governor PB Acharya on Thursday ordered suspension of IGP (CID) Richard Yimto with immediate effect for his alleged involvement in illegal narcotics trade. Yimto has also been asked not to leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the competent authority.

According to the order signed by Home commissioner Abhishek Singh, a report from DGP was received on October 22 regarding seizure of 6.9 kg of brown sugar by narcotic cell at Khuzama check gate on August 3 this year and about the alleged involvement of Richard in the matter.
