New York Times claims India's Covid 19 deaths 3 times more than official data, Modi govt terms it baseless
The New York Times wrote in an article on Tuesday that the number of deaths from corona in India could be 3 times more than the official figure of Rs 3 lakh.
The newspaper had said that the deaths due to corona in India are being told very rarely and many deaths are not being recorded.
The report is prepared based on 3 nationwide serosurveys and antibody tests. In this article, it is estimated that there have been at least 42 lakh deaths in India from Corona.
The Government of India has completely rejected the news published in the well-known American newspaper about the deaths of Covid-19 in India.
A member of the NITI Aayog and Dr. VK Paul, head of the Covid Task Force of India, said that 'there is no evidence behind the report of newspaper and it has been written based on distorted estimates'.
