SC expresses concern over the condition of migrant labourers, says, 'no compliance on orders'

  • Amid the second wave of Coronavirus, the Supreme Court has once again expressed concern over the condition of migrant laborers.
  • In July last year, the Supreme Court gave several instructions to the Central and State Governments for migrant laborers.
  • The top court today said that there has been no compliance on those orders because no government has filed any reply.
  • It stated that for migrant laborers who went back to their village last year and who have returned to the city, there should be a means of employment or food and drink.
  • The court also said that collective kitchens should be made in Delhi-NCR so that no one is hungry. The SC will pass orders on migrant laborers till 4 pm today.
