'BBMP taking bribes for beds in hospitals' - BJP MP Tejashwi Surya surrounds his own party

  • BJP MP from Bangalore Tejashwi Surya has accused the Municipal Corporation officials of taking bribes for giving beds in hospitals.
  • Soon after this, two people have been arrested, while others are being interrogated. Those arrested have been identified as Rohit and Netra.
  • They allegedly used to charge 25 thousand to 50 thousand rupees for a bed. The police have seized 1.05 lakh rupees from their bank account.
  • MP Surya has alleged that 'a gang of BBMP officers and frontline health workers are conspiring to 'buy' the beds of the people who died without receiving ICU care.
  • He said, 'All the beds are seen full on the website of BBMP. Many people are getting discharged from hospitals, but BBMP says that all beds are booked."
