Students, workers stages protest at Jantar Mantar amid unemployment, demands 'Right to Work' as fundamental

Workers, students and the youth Congress protested on Monday against the Centre's policy decisions.
According to the protesters, the Centre's decisions are only leading to a “worsening of the situation of unemployment” in the country.
The public meeting at Jantar Mantar was held under the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), Students Federation of India (SFI), and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI).
A R Sindhu of CITU claimed that loss of jobs has increased under the BJP government due to its “disastrous policies”.
The protesting groups pressed their 12-point demand charter, which included implementation of the Bhagat Singh Urban Employment Guarantee Act, which is meant to ensure 200 workdays for all employable people at minimum wage rates.
