Assam Assembly elections: BJP declares names of three candidates for the second phase

The 2021 Assam Assembly election is scheduled to be held from March 27 to April 6 in three phases.
The BJP has today announced the names of three candidates for the second phase, taking the total contestants to 74.
BJP MLA from Hojai Shiladitya Dev who is famous for making offensive remarks against Muslims has been denied a ticket and replaced by Ramakrishna Ghosh.
Former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Parmananda Rajbongshi who just joined the BJP has been fielded from the seat in Darrang district.
The BJP has nominated Milan Das from the Hailakandi constituency instead of Soumyajit Dutta Choudhury.
