Covid cases can't be a parameter to judge Government in Gujarat: Vijay Rupani

  • Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani says his government should not be judged by the large number of covid cases or deaths rather, it should be judged on the response of the administration in handling the pandemic.
  • Gujarat, with 5,886 active cases, 16,664 recovered cases and 1,505 deaths as on Tuesday, is one of the four most affected  states in the country, along with Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu.
  • Going by an analysis done by the state government, CM said that most deaths in Gujarat have occurred among the aged, those suffering from co-morbid conditions and those admitted to hospital when they were critically ill.
  • Talking about the migrants, Rupani said his government operated more than 1,000 Shramik trains in coordination with the Indian Railways and the concerned state governments to send more than 1.45 million workers back home.
  • CM also shared his views on upcoming Rajya Sabha election and said the main Opposition party lacked leadership and vision, because of which people had rejected it in the last two general elections and for two decades in Gujarat.
