AIMTC Asks PM Modi's Intervention To Stop Extortion Of Truckers Hit By COVID 19 Crisis

  • The truckers have been hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis.
  • Transporter's body AIMTC said that due to this, the corruption of truckers is at its peak in states like Madhya Pradesh. 
  • The AIMTC has asked for PM Narendra Modi's intervention to bring an end to their difficulty.
  • In a letter addressed to the PM Modi, AIMTC alleged that tallies ranging from Rs 1,200 to Rs 3,000 per vehicle per entry are being charged by those deployed at the state borders, especially in MP.
  • The letter further added, "If the payment is refused, the vehicle is detained and fined on one pretext or the other."
