Maneka Gandhi slams Rahul Gandhi for no action against the death of pregnant elephant in Kerala

  • BJP leader Maneka Gandhi on Wednesday lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asking why he has not taken any action against the death of a pregnant elephant in Kerala's Malappuram.
  • She also demanded removal of the forest secretary and resignation  of the minister for wildlife protection.
  • Malappuram district is a form part of Rahul's Wayanad constituency.
  • She further criticised  Wayanad MP and said that Rahul himself chose that area so he shall sort out problems of that area first instead of trying to resolve issues of the whole country by giving mere speeches.
  • Towards the end of May, a pregnant wild elephant in Kerala's Silent Valley Forest fell victim to an act of human cruelty after a pineapple filled with powerful crackers offered by a man exploded in her mouth when she chomped on it.
