Coronavirus: Order for 5 Lakh Testing Kits for COVID-19 Placed, Says Health Ministry

The health ministry said that an order of 5 lakh testing kits for COVID-19 has been placed.
Out of those 2.5 lakh kits for rapid testing will be available on 8th and 9th April.
The ministry also informed that 693 fresh cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours taking the total number of confirmed cases to 4067.
Lav Aggarwal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry said 76% of cases have been reported in males & 24% in females.
The number of deaths stands at 109 and 63% of the deaths have been reported among people over 60 years of age.
