Kerala Government to set up community volunteers force during pandemic
- Kerala Government has decided to set up community volunteers force in the wake of COVID-19.
- According to CM Vijayan, the government will recruit 2,36,000-member strong Community Volunteer Force to support special tasks during COVID-19 pandemic.
- These volunteers will be given the task to support local home delivery of food; bystanders in hospital and support personnel during emergency.
- CM stated that persons between 22 years and 40 years are welcome to join the volunteer force and will be trained locally.
- In Kerala, so far, around 138 persons have tested positive for Covid -19 and 126 persons are undergoing treatment in isolation wards.
