RTI No Citizenship Record For CM Khattar
- The Haryana govt does not have documents to prove the citizenship of CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya and other Cabinet ministers.
- This was revealed by the Right to Information query.
- Panipat-based activist PP Kapoor had filed an RTI in January seeking certificates of documents that would prove the citizenship of the CM, the governor, and other ministers.
- Before the Haryana Assembly elections last year, Khattar had said that he would implement the NRC in his state along the lines of Assam to remove illegal immigrants.
- While speaking to media, he said that about 1,500 people who had come to India following religious persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan were living in Haryana.
