"Central Government Not Planning to Conduct Nationwide NRC"
- On Wednesday, the central govt said it in the Parliament that it is not planning to conduct the nationwide NRC.
- Union minister Nityanand Rai in a written reply said, "Till now, the government has not taken any decision to prepare NRC at the national level."
- With this statement, the government hopes to calm the agitators who have been protesting against NRC and CAA.
- The minister also said that the center is in contact with the CMs of non-BJP states and is trying to address their fears and explaining the government's position.
- Before this PM Modi also asserted that his govt is not planning to bring nationwide NRC and it was done in Assam only after SC orders.
