Maharashtra Govt Mandates The Preamble Reading In The State
The Maharashtra govt has made Preamble reading mandatory in all schools in the state from January 26.
In a circular, the school education dept said that the exercise aimed at making students aware of the core values of the Constitution.
The schools have been advised to take an initiative - ‘Sovereignty of the Constitution in the Public Interest’ and start group reading of the preamble.
Let us tell you, in Feb 2013, the then Congress-NCP govt had issued the same order which was not followed on a daily basis.
The order said, "If the students get to know properly about the Constitution, then it will help us in creating responsible, intelligent and cultured citizens.
