Walayar rape-murder cases: Kerala govt removes the prosecutor
On Monday, the Pinarayi Vijayan government announced the removal of the public prosecutor in the rape and murder case of two minor girls of Walayar in 2017.
The government has been facing persistent criticism over its handling of these cases.
Vijayan told the Assembly that his government would respect the wishes of the victims of the parents of the two victims and would consider their demands for a CBI probe.
The victims' family had alleged that members of the CPI(M) had an attempt to influence investigations.
Let us tell you that the two minor girls, who were sisters, were found hanging after being sexually assaulted in January and March 2017.
