Khammam railway station needs an upgrade, says MP

Khammam railway station, which handles approximately over 13,000 passengers per day with around 30 trains including several long-distance trains passing through the station daily, needs augmentation of passenger amenities and upgradation of facilities, said Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao.
Mr Rao, who is the floor leader of the TRS in the Lok Sabha, inspected the railway station along with the railway station officials concerned here on Saturday. He went round the entire railway station premises including the circulating area, retiring rooms, and ticket counters for about an hour.
He interacted with the commuters on the platforms and elicited their suggestions to improve the passenger amenities. Later, talking to newsmen he said adequate drinking water and resting facilities including waiting rooms should be provided at the railway station to fully cater to the needs of commuters.
Additional CCTV cameras should be installed at vantage points on the premises of the railway station to further bolster the surveillance system, he said. I will represent all the issues pertaining to the pending railway projects, upgradation of railway infrastructure and modernisation of railway stations in the State to the Union Railway Minister, he asserted. Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspector K Madhusudhan and others were present.
