Welcoming the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, the BJP leader Lanka Dinakar observed that central government decision of making Jammu and Kashmir as Union Territory with Legislature and Ladakh as another UT without Legislature is a strategic move, keeping in view of both internal and external security of Kashmir in particular and nation in general.

The acts and deeds of the Congress are irresponsible and regional parties in the valley always thought for their political opportunism, but not for peace, harmony and fraternity among the people of the state, Dinakar blamed. He claimed that the BJP is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all in the country, which is one of the basic principles of the Constitution of India.

Reacting on the legal constraints on women in J&K, he said that till now, if they marry other than permanent residents of that State, they would forego their rights in the property.
