Alemao has not flouted party norms: Jose Philip

Reacting to the support lent by lone NCP legislator Churchill Alemao to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the state NCP unit president Jose Philip D’Souza has said that by doing so Alemao has not flouted any party norms nor bypassed the party high command.
Speaking to media in Vasco, D’Souza said, “As a president it is my duty to convey the decision, taken by Alemao, to the high command. The lone party legislator in the state has not flouted any party norms nor bypassed the high command. He is the lone legislator of the party in the state and can take any decision on its own. The anti-party defection law does is not applicable in case of Alemao.”
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has given an ultimatum to the public works department (PWD) to repair pothole-ridden roads by July end, ahead of Saptah celebration to be held in Vasco from first week of August. D’Souza has also said, “PWD authorities should have repaired the roads in Vasco ahead of monsoon. F L Gomes road was to be taken up for hot-mix carpeting, but due to model code of conduct in view of Lok Sabha election, it was postponed and now it has been planned to be done after monsoon.” He also raised concern over vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue and others in the low-lying areas.
